The events dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War began long before May 9, and this is no coincidence, because for more than 10 years the university students have been implementing the civil-patriotic project Days of Military Glory.
The Joint Board of students traditionally held the actions "St. George’s ribbon" and "Lilac of Victory". The students took part in the All-Russian poster competition dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. This year, for the first time in the framework of the "Days of Military Glory" project, the action "Letter of Victory" was held too.
On May 8th, in the assembly hall, a solemn event of "The Living Memory of Past " took place, which students of the University and Ramenskoye Gymnasium № 7 took part in. GSU rector, Professor B.V. Ilkevich congratulated everyone on the holiday and spoke about the importance of preserving the memory of the great military feat, the terrible tragedy that the Soviet people suffered.
Teachers and employees of our university also took part in hostilities on various fronts of the Great Patriotic War. Time is inexorable, today they are not alive, but we remember them. The last generation, survived the horrors of war, famine, devastation, loss of loved ones, orphanhood, are the children of war. Representatives of this generation are working at our university.
At the solemn event, songs and poems about the war sounded, many of which excited listeners to tears. Alina Gornostayeva, a student of the faculty of arts and crafts and design, read the poem "Zinka", which, in memory of her fellow soldier and our countrywoman, Hero of the Soviet Union Zina Samsonova, was written by Julia Drunina. Angelina Garbuzova, a student of the faculty of arts and crafts and design, read the poem "The Blockade Swallow" by Olga Berggolts. There were also poems by Eduard Asadov "Destiny of the country" performed by student of the department of culture and art Olesya Leshnevskaya and "Wait for me" by Konstantin Simonov performed by student of the department of culture and art Tikhon Somov.
Yulia Yudina, a student of the faculty of extramural education (the direction of preparation of Physical Culture), in the dance "Cuckoo" told about the difficult fate of wartime children. Elizabeth Odinartseva, a student of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Education, and the pupils of Gymnasium № 7 in Ramenskoye Valeriya Mikhailova and Polina Gurovich performed the dance "Angel of Faith", which tried to convey the faith and hope of people to preserve peace.
At this celebration there were many songs about the war: the student of the Department of Decorative and Applied Art and Design Viktoria Kurnoskina performed the song of the band "Street Magic" "About That Spring"; Ekaterina Gruznitskaya, a student of the faculty of arts and crafts and design, presented the song of the same group "A scarlet sunset"; Veronika Levina, student of the design department, sang the song of the band "Lube" "After the war". In the final, the song "Remember" was performed by a student of the Department of Culture and Art Anna Baranova.
The representative of the university, the organizer of the cultural and mass work V.I. Fedotova, took part in the rally in the Ramenskoye district, whose participants visited 14 obelisks. 40 cars of participants of the race were decorated with flags and St. George ribbons. In each settlement along the route of the run, the cars were greeted with applause. The culmination of the celebration of the Victory Day were, of course, the celebrations that took place on May 9th.
In the village of Elektroizolyator in the morning, a mass athletic run took place, among its winners the third-year student of the design department Maria Ivanova (first place), the student of the technology department Diana Markina (third) and the first-year student of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Education Timur Konovalov (second place).
At noon, the meeting began at the monument to the fallen soldiers. The column of the "Immortal Regiment" at the university gathered more than 100 students, teachers and staff. Participants of the action carried photos of relatives, relatives, as well as teachers – V. N. Strakhov, B.M. Pishchik, V.S. Pavlov, I. A. Sokolov and many others who fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. It is gratifying that our graduates A.V. Kustarev, V.A. Kustarev, V.V. Denisov and residents of our settlement were also in the column of the University.
At the meeting addressed the head of the Department of International Relations candidate of philological sciences N.V. Barkalova. She noted the great contribution of the residents of Ramensky district and Gzhel to victory over fascism and congratulated veterans, rear workers, children of war and all who gathered with the holiday.
After this performance, the chords of the well-known melody of the song "Cranes" by Ian Frenkel and Rasul Gamzatov sounded and 73 white balloons with small origami of white paper cranes smoothly flew to the sky as a tribute to the memory of 27 million people who died in the Great Patriotic War. Student action "The Cranes are flying to Immortal" was greeted with applause. Students, teachers and university staff took part in the action "Candle of Memory"
The evening of 9th May. The procession with candles in hand and the victory salute became the apotheosis of festive events.
Representatives of the university also participated in the celebration of the Victory Day in Ramenskoye and other settlements. On May 12th, GSU students will take part in the "Forest of Victory" action.
The years go by, generations change, but the memory of the war and the Victory must live for centuries, no one will be able to belittle the contribution of our people to the defeat of fascism. We remember!
