From May 2nd to 4th, 2018, college students traditionally took part in the art competition "Maystar-2018", which was held in Gomel, Belarus, on the basis of the Gomel State Art College.

This year GSU College was represented by students of the specialty «Painting» Meshkova P. and Makarova A.

Participation in the contest included three competitive days and assignments for three disciplines: painting, drawing and composition. Work had to be fruitful, in conditions of strong competition. Sketches of competitive works were carried out from life. It was necessary to clearly display the subject of the image, convey the color, mood and character of the production. A deep creative approach, knowledge of the laws of construction and perspective, was required to be shown when performing a composition on a given theme "Spring".

A separate time was allocated for the performance of the picturesque landscapes of the most beautiful suburbs in the open air.

Despite the busy schedule and strong rivals, the work was conducted in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. The general spirit of adventurism and the desire to win did not let us relax for a minute and only gave strength to move on to our participants. Polina and Alexandra were happy to share their experiences and take the experience of children from other educational institutions.

For the third consecutive year, college students are contestants of this event. This time the students not only received the diplomas of the participants, but P. Meshkova received a special diploma for the creative approach.
