A student of Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, D. Babashov, like his groupmate Zhasmin Zhalgasova, studied during the semester at GSU under the program of student academic exchange. In Almaty, students of GSU faculty of arts and crafts and design A. Mosulova and A. Kalugina went on an exchange. Returning to Kazakhstan, Daniyar shared his impressions of the trip.
The university liked from the first days, because all the conditions for training specialists are created here. I was lucky enough to work with Dean of the Faculty of Decorative and Applied Art and Design, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation G. P. Moskovskaya and with the senior teacher of the Department of Decorative and Applied Arts O.A. Pervozvanskaya. These are real masters of their craft, I am immensely grateful to them for their advice, patience, for having taught me design, and introduced to porcelain. Yes, it was here that I learned what porcelain is! In Gzhel I first managed to work with white clay. Comparing the work created earlier, and those that appeared during this short time in GSU, I see the difference myself and feel that I have gained a new experience.
I liked very much that the university often holds contests and festivals. In the contest "The Hope of Science and Creativity", I took the first place in the nomination "Drawing and Painting". At the exhibition-competition of the XXXV International Festival "The Blue Bird of Gzhel-2018" presented two works: in the nomination "Painting" - a portrait with watercolor, in the nomination "Ceramics" - decorative sculpture "Fisherman", and in both nominations took first place! Of course, I was very happy that my work was highly appreciated, but the most important test was the yearly X International Festival "Artistic Ceramics". I submitted works for the festival in the nomination "Traditional ceramics (majolica, faience)" and was awarded a diploma of the laureate of the II degree.
Once I admired reproductions of works of great painters in books. Now he could see the originals of many of them in the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, in the Tretyakov Gallery. Moscow museums, which I managed to visit, caused incredible feelings, now I am full of new ideas.
How quickly, fascinatingly, the main thing - effectively passed a semester! I tried to make the most of the conditions provided. My best works, such as "Fisherman", "East Kumgang", "Protection", "Future Architect", "Capitals of Countries", "Underwater World", "Presence of Purity", were performed here. Some of them decided to leave for memory in Gzhel University. I would like to study here, but it’s time to return. I will be happy to show my work and the level of Gzhel University in the academy, to share my accumulated experience. Thank you for the program of student mobility, for the opportunity to develop creative opportunities and exchange of experience!
