Gzhel University for the second time took part in the competition of Russian universities by CIS "Internationalization of higher education", organized by the Association of Eastern European Universities. In 2017 GSU became the laureate of this competition in the category "Organization of the International Department", in 2018, the Association’s Letter of Appreciation noted the project of the International Festival of National Cultures "We Learn in Russia", which is held annually at the University. It was presented for the competition in the nomination "Involving foreign students in the extracurricular life of the university."
The university trains 170 students from 14 countries of the near and far abroad, so it is important to create an atmosphere of mutual understanding, friendship and respect. Various measures are taken to successfully adapt to the university. Involving foreign students in extracurricular activities is one of the areas of the concept of educational work, which is being implemented in the university. The children enjoy singing, dancing, physical culture and sports, participating in such events as the international festivals "We Learn in Russia", "The Blue Bird of Gzhel", "Art Pottery", the regional forum "Stop Terrorism!", "GSU - the territory of sports ", performances of entertainment teams etc.
One of the most important events is the International Festival of National Cultures "We Learn in Russia", which has been held since 2010 and is becoming more and more large every year. The festival is supported by the Committee on Nationalities Affairs of the RF State Duma, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the All-Russian Public Movement "All-Russia Interethnic Youth Union".
A great impression on foreign students is made by excursions around Moscow and Moscow region, visits to theaters and concerts organized by the International Relations Department for them. There are clubs of international friendship at the University, where foreign students gather to meet with compatriots and peers from other countries.
Studying at the University of Gzhel, foreign students not only receive their chosen profession, but also have the opportunity to realize their abilities in various activities, to get acquainted with the culture and art of Russia, to adapt in a new social environment.
