On May 2018, our University hosted the X International Festival “Artistic Ceramics”, in which teachers of GSU children art schools took an active part, presenting creative works to the audience and the jury and demonstrating their level of skill and professionalism.
Many teachers are graduates of Gzhel University, their life and work are connected with ceramics. V. M. Shimbireva (Art School No. 1) showed mastery of work with porcelain and underglaze painting. Vera Mikhailovna is anxious about the history of the Gzhel region and the products of the old masters. She realized her knowledge of the history of the Gzhel craft by making copies of jars with paintings from different years and creating her own replica of the painting.
The teachers of the art school № 2 M. V. Krivorotova and O. B. Kanushina also presented ceramic works to the festival, demonstrating art in majolica, porcelain, and chamotte.
A personal exhibition of paintings by N. F. Vasilenko was organized at the festival. Nikolai Fedorovich is a talented artist and teacher with vast experience (more than forty years). He teaches at art school number 2 and is actively engaged in creative work, participates in various festivals and exhibitions. All his work is permeated with love for his native land. The painter finds the beautiful in the surrounding - simple village streets, overgrown with bushes of chrysanthemums, in the fields lit by the bright rays of the sun, the floods of the river of lakes. During the summer plein-air practice, Nikolai Fedorovich, together with the students of the art school, goes outdoors every day. He gives his experience to the children and teaches them to see the beautiful around him.
Teachers of art schools of the Gzhel University adequately presented their work at the International Festival "Artistic Ceramics", demonstrating a high level of skill.
We hope that someday we will also be able to be proud of our students, as we are now proud of our teachers!
