On September 19th, 2018, N. V. Barkalova, Head of the International Relations Department, G. P. Moskovskaya, Dean of the Faculty of Decorative and Applied Art and Design, and Wilson Guerrero Manchay, International Relations Specialist, participated in the celebration of the 197th anniversary of independence of Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador.
The event began with the performance of anthems from Central America and Russia, followed by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Honduras, Eleonora Ortes Williams, and the Director of the Latin American Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, A. V. Schetinin. His speeches dealt with the prospects for strengthening international relations in the field of economy, tourism, education and culture. Pleasant was the message that the citizens of Russia received the possibility of visa-free entry to all countries of Central America.
University representatives visited El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua to establish contacts and organize joint projects.
The university successfully develops cooperation with educational institutions, arts and culture of many countries of Central America, contacts with embassies of these countries have been established. Thanks to the implementation of joint educational and creative projects, agreements were signed with the National Council of Universities of Nicaragua and the largest university in Guatemala – the University of San Carlos.
Representatives of embassies of Central American countries participate in festivals and scientific conferences that are held at the university. In September 2018, a musician and composer from Guatemala Roberto Perez Chamale appeared on the stage of the assembly hall of the GSU. The concert was organized on the initiative and with the assistance of the Embassy of Guatemala.
Undoubtedly, fruitful cooperation in the fields of education, culture and art will continue.
