Vasilisa Aristarkhova and Ksenia Mezinova graduated from university last year, and many still remember these enterprising and active students: participants and winners of many Moscow and All-Russian competitions for young designers, organizers of various student events at the university.

Vasilisa and Ksenia graduated from the university in the same direction. But letters from them come from different continents.

Vasilisa Aristarkhova continued her studies in Austria:

“In July 2017, I graduated from GSU Bachelor course in Design and exactly a year later I entered the University of Art and Industrial Design in Linz (Austria),” Vasilisa said. – Here I study on the master program “Visual communications (graphic design and photography)”.

Already in the second year of GSU, I decided on the future direction of activity and besides studying I was engaged in self-education in the field of graphic design, then I got a job in a branding agency. I started searching for a suitable program, I wanted to try a different educational model.

Now, having studied a month, I can say that everything was not in vain. I like the local education system. We do not have both purely theoretical and absolutely practical courses. Theory and practice harmoniously complement each other. Since all teachers are practicing specialists, on theory a lot of time is devoted to what is happening in the design world right now: we analyze the work of modern studios and agencies. In addition, different approaches are practiced here to attract students: what could be more fun and clearer than studying the statistics using the example of Star Wars charts!

Ksenia Mezinova meets the culture of India:

“In the spring I accidentally read the information that I could study in India and decided to take the risk - I applied for a grant from the government of India. I waited a long time, finally, in August they called me and said: “You are enrolled”.

And so I and three more girls from Russia started studying at Kendriya Hindi Sansthan. This is the Hindi Institute for the Study of Agra, which is located near Delhi. At first it was difficult, but India accepted and began to learn new things.

I realized that I love my new friends, we complement each other: the Cameroonian boys will learn to play the tabla (national musical instruments, drums), the French Michelle will do her hair, the girls from Sri Lanka will drink tea and help with Hindi, roommate Bel pulls up my English.

Such different and dissimilar people gathered together and became friends. This is a completely different world, it is tasty and spicy, noisy and bright. There are many holidays here, the Indians celebrate them on a large scale, loud and bright. This week I spend on travel Agra – Pushkar – Jaipur – Agra. So many interesting things that I want to write and write about what I see and hear. I am overwhelmed with emotions”.
