Students of the service and tourism department not only participated in the concert program of IX International Festival “We Study in Russia”, but also helped the jury evaluate dishes prepared by representatives of different nationalities, met guests and participants of the festival at a friendship dinner.

Today, representatives of seven countries of the world study at the service and tourism department: Cuba, the Ukraine, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan. The culture of their countries in the creative program presented at the festival sophomore specialty Tourism Ragla Matos Chappotin (Cuba) and Ekaterina Yerimova, Louise Starokon from Ukraine. Second-year female students of the specialty Hotel service Ksenia Kuzina, Darya Ivanchenko, Tatyana Levina, Olesya Kolesnikova and Ekaterina Botina had the opportunity to demonstrate their experience in serving the jury during the tasting of dishes of the national cuisine competition.

Studying on the specialties of Hotel service and Hotel business, students master the skills of receiving, registering and accommodating guests, organizing and controlling the work of the units of hotel complexes; learn to conduct tours, meet and escort guests, etc. They learn English, Spanish, French, German. Graduates work with professional reservation and registration programs, know how to design a hotel room, speak two foreign languages, can develop and provide an individual hotel product, i.e. provide service in accordance with international standards.

In practical and field classes, students familiarize themselves with the latest trends in the development of the hotel business, with the work of successfully developing hotel enterprises and restaurant complexes. The internships are held in large hotels in Moscow and the Moscow region, such as Holiday Inn Sokolniki, Novotel Moscow City, etc. Many successfully participate in various professional competitions.

In 2016, Oksana Vedryshkina and Veronika Khabarova became the winners of the professional competition in the field of hospitality "Student PIR".

In 2017, Valentina Surova and Oksana Vedryshkina were selected as winners of the regional professional skills competition in the field of hotel service.

In 2018, Elena Roschina became a laureate of the regional study of local lore competition of research projects “I am studying my native land”.

The specialty «Hotel service» has been implemented at GSU College since 2012. This type of activity is among the most sought-after in the labor market, and the profession is the most promising and is in the TOP-50.
