We study in Russia. Rapprochement and mutual understanding
On December 12th, 2018 The International Festival of National Cultures “We study in Russia”, which has been held at the university since 2010, was an event for foreign students, because they represented the culture of their people at this holiday.
Today, we are studying young people from 16 countries of the near and far abroad: Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Guatemala, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Moldova, El Salvador, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, the Ukraine. The university successfully develops international relations, which can be confirmed by the festival “We study in Russia”, the program of which becomes larger and more diverse every year.
Even before the beginning of the concert program, guests and participants of the festival could take part in various master classes: “Gzhel painting”, “Clay whistle”, “Belarusian tapestry”, “Rag doll”, “Woodcarving”, “Calligraphy”, “Flowers from Foarmiran ”,“ Christmas Wreath ”,“ Textile Doll ”.
Of particular interest was the master class "Belarusian tapestry" Vlada Bondarenko. Its participants could practice in the creation of non-woven paintings, which until now embody the rich traditions of the Belarusian folk weaving. Students of Tsitsikar University, studying under the program of international academic exchange in State Humanitarian and Technological University (Orekhovo-Zuyevo), taught the art of beautiful writing at a master class on calligraphy. Everyone could write their name in Chinese.
On this day, the work of each master was popular. But the festival’s concert program was especially bright and saturated, in each room of which foreign students presented the most colorful elements of national culture.
The cheerful and optimistic Belarusian ritual “Gucanna Viasny” was opened by the students of the Republic of Belarus Vlada Bondarenko, Evgenia Yatskevich and Maria Maslyuk, and also the Belarus State University of Culture and Arts Maria Demesh and Anastasia Yukovich, who study at Gzhel University under the international youth exchange program. The ceremony “Ghukanne vasny” is associated with the peasants’ hope for a friendly spring and good harvest. The girls dressed up a tree - birch or rowan - and drove round dances.
Students from sunny Uzbekistan Bakhodir Fayziev, Sevar Botirov, Elbek Abdihafizov, Shakhnoza Eshnazarova, Lyubov Musagutova, Dilobar Ruzimboeva, Khoshim Khalilov performed Andijan polka and prepared Uzbek pilaf.

Guests from the People’s Republic of China told the audience about the vocal and poetic art of China, performing the folk song Wind and Waves and poems of the ancient Chinese poet Li Boe. The members of the Sozvedie collective of State Humanitarian and Technological University, which included Turkmen and Uzbek students, prepared the national dance “Lazgi” and showed the “Before the Wedding” folk rite.
The performance of the Cuban student Regla Matos Chappotin, who sang about the beautiful sunny homeland, was bright and temperamental.
An interesting program was prepared by students from Tajikistan. Firdavs Kalimayev and Risola Mamadnyezova danced the Tajik national dance, Khonim Begaliyeva and Sanobar Samadova read poems in their native language, Subhondzhon Khasanov told about the peculiarities of the national Tajik cuisine. College students Armineh Israelian and Narine Stepanyan read in Armenian and Russian languages the poem by Yehish Charents “I love the fed-up language with the sun” and talked about the national dishes presented in the competition program.
In blue and white suits, symbolizing the colors of the national flag of El Salvador, under the fiery guitar rhythms came on the stage to show the national dance, Elena Sophia Aguilar Campos, Jennifer Lissete Ramos Chavez, Blanca Jakelin Ramos Hacinto, Evelin Beatriz Perez Benito.
The hall applauded each participant, each performance was original and interesting, but the most important thing for which the festival is held is an acquaintance with the culture of different peoples, whose representatives study at the university, their rapprochement and mutual understanding.
