Gzhel University was awarded a letter of thanks by Moscow Region Minister of Health D.A. Matveev for active participation in “I am your donor” movement.

The award ceremony took place on February 20th in Moscow Region Government Building. On this occasion, a photo exhibition was opened here dedicated to the work of “I am your donor” movement, which is being implemented as part of a presidential grant aimed at the development of gratuitous donation in Russia. In one of the photos is Marina Orishchenko, a student of service and tourism department.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Deputy Minister of Health of the Moscow Region I.G. Soldatova and the adviser of Russian Red Cross chairman, the curator of this project Sergey Bukharov.

I.G. Soldatova, Deputy Minister of Health of the Moscow Region, in her speech stressed the importance of propaganda tasks and donor campaigns implemented in 2018. All active supporters of “I am your donor” movement were presented with letters of appreciation from Moscow Region Minister of Health D. A. Matveyev.

The coordinator of movement “I am your donor” S.V. Bukharov noted an important role in the development of the movement of regional and municipal authorities, the Moscow regional blood transfusion station.

After signing an agreement between Moscow Regional Blood Transfusion Station and Gzhel University in 2015, blood donation campaigns are held twice a year, during which more than 500 students, teachers and university staff who donated about 190 liters of blood joined the donor movement. On October 22nd, 2018, 79 students and staff showed willingness to donate blood. On this day, 31 liters and 500 ml of blood were sent to the Moscow regional blood transfusion station.

On February 9th, 2019, students and staff of the university took part in the “donor Saturday” organized by Moscow regional blood transfusion station.

In addition, students take an active part in the work on the promotion of gratuitous donation, participate in the conduct of meetings of round tables, workshops, educational sites.

The University is an honorary participant in the state Voluntary Donation Development Program. In 2018, donors and volunteers of GSU were invited to the first Moscow festival of student donation, it was held with the support of the city health department. Gzhel State University was awarded the diploma "For the contribution to the development of free donation."

Another award is a special prize of Ramensky District head for the activities of donors and volunteers of GSU in 2018.

The next “Donor`s Saturday” at the blood transfusion station will take place on March 2nd, and on April 15th, employees of the Moscow regional blood transfusion station will arrive to university so that those who wish can donate blood.

Everyone understands that donated blood can be a salvation in situations that threaten human life.
