From February 14th to February 16th the all-Russian stage of All-Russian competition for the best organization of student self-government was held in Rostov-on-Don. The competition was held as part of the 82nd shift of All-Russian School of Student Self-Government “21st Century Leader”, in which a student of Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Alina Gornostaeva and a student of Department of Physical Culture Andrei Geraltovsky took part.
After completing classes at the student government school, Alina Gornostayeva shared her impressions.
“I sent the application for the contest and became its finalist. By the way, I did not go to Rostov for the first time. In the first year I won a video contest, which was organized by All-Russian School of Student Self-Government “21st Century Leader” and became a member of the Media direction.
The opening event was held at the Southern Federal University. The participants in the school and the competition are experienced leaders who have declared themselves at various forums and festivals. Representatives of three nominations gathered at our site: “The Best Organization of Student Sports Leisure”, “The Best Support System for Sports Creativity” and “The Best Manager of Student Media”. Our competitive test was self-presentation.
I had to talk about the activities of the media center. Then we showed the report “Lifehacks of students”, for which the University’s student television was awarded the Grand Prix at the regional stage of Russian Student Spring festival. This victory was for us a ticket to the All-Russian stage.
After the demonstration of self-presentations, we had to develop media support for the event. An hour of time was needed for development, and then an expectation of results. There was a lot of free time for communication. We got acquainted with the practice of student media in other universities, learned a lot of useful information for us in organizing the activities of the university media center. I hope to realize these ideas in the near future”.
