Thanks to academic exchange programs that Gzhel State University implements in conjunction with the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts and Kazakh Zhurgenov National Academy of Arts, Sofia Ganushkina, Kristina Dolgushina and Tatiana Teterina, students of faculty of visual arts and design, undergo an academic exchange program in Minsk and Almaty. At the same time, Maria Demesh and Anna Minchik from Minsk and Zhanibek Demisinov from Almaty started their studies at Gzhel University.

According to established tradition, having gone to study during the semester on academic exchange at another university, students periodically report how they are doing. That’s what they write this time.

Sofya Ganushkina:

“Three months of our study in Minsk have passed. During this time, we are well accustomed to a new place, accustomed to an active working rhythm. Every day we spend in the workshops of the university, completing assignments, learning traditional pottery, began to make sculptures from pottery forms. We are engaged in painting and drawing.

In free from homework time on weekends, visit museums and exhibitions. We visited the Museum of Traditional Culture in Ivenets, where we looked at the richly decorated figures of bison, lions and bears, which were performed by local craftsmen in the middle of the last century. We try not to waste a minute - time runs quickly, and you want to see, hear, learn as much as possible! ”

Tatyana Teterina:

“Time is rushing forward rapidly. Not so long ago on March 22nd, in honor of the celebration of the holiday Nauryz (this is the Kazakh New Year), an exhibition was held at the academy where students organized various master classes. I showed a master class of Gzhel painting on plates. And now the intermediate viewing is nearing in the creative disciplines, and I diligently prepare for it. At the research conference, which was held at the Academy, presented the article “Pros and cons of academic mobility”. In my opinion, student exchange is a great opportunity to get acquainted with the culture of another people, to replenish knowledge, to find friends.
