University in the project “Gzhel 2.0. Yesterday – Today – Tomorrow"
On September 29th, 2019 in main workshop of Gzhel Amalgamation, the cultural and educational event «Gzhel 2.0. Yesterday - today – tomorrow», organized as part of the national project “Culture”, took place. Students and lecturers of GSU took an active part in this event under the guidance of Acting Rector N. N. Uvarova.
The event "Gzhel 2.0" was initiated by Russian Union of Travel Industry, Union of Designers of Russia and Union "Gzhel", held with the support of Russian Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Industry and Trade. Its participants discussed a number of issues on how to give a new impetus to the development of Gzhel folk art craft. The discussion was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture of Russian Federation Olga Yarilova, Acting Head of Ramenskoe district V.V. Nevolin, heads of settlements, business leaders, artists. The director of Institute of Fine Arts and Design, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation G.P. Moskovskaya, acted as a speaker.
Gzhel 2.0 contest winners were awarded and a tripartite cooperation agreement was signed between Russian Union of Travel Industry, Union of Designers of Russia and Gzhel Union. Students of GSU took part in this creative competition.
GSU volunteers met and registered guests and participants of the event, helped employees in catering facilities, halls with expositions of projects and products. It was very useful to take part in the event to third-year students in the field of arts and folk crafts, who got acquainted with the works of honored artists and new solutions in the manufacture of ceramics in the craft. In this semester they will study the history of craft and its canons, and in the future - create their own project in the traditions of Gzhel folk art craft.
