On October 27, 2021, the opening of the XXXVIII International Festival of Children, Youth and Student Creativity "Blue Bird of Gzhel - 2021" took place.

It is held within the framework of the year 2021 announced by Russian President V.V. Putin - the Year of Science and Technology and to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the first Olympic Games of our time in Athens, is dedicated to the popularization of a healthy lifestyle. His motto: "Oh sport, you are the world!"

The creative forum is supported by the Ministry of science and higher education of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of education, the Association of folk arts and crafts of Russia, and the administration of the Ramensk urban district.

Due to the current sanitary and epidemiological situation, it is used in a mixed format: the exhibition and competition program is full-time and part-time, the concert program is part-time.

The honorary right to cut the ribbon and start the work of the XXXVIII International Festival of Children’s, Youth and Student Creativity "Blue Bird Gzhel – 2021" was granted to: acting Rector D.S. Somov, culture and tourism of the Ramensky urban district M.G. Rogatina, directors of territorial administrations Novokharitonovskoye and Gzhelskoye N.A. Shirenina and G.N. Golinkova the jury of the exhibition competition program of the head of the jewelry department of the National Academy of Arts of San Alejandro (Republic of Cuba) Piloto Vasquez Marlene, a member of the jury of the competition concert program, the host of the TV program “Ships entered our harbor”, teacher of the Higher School of Television E.N. Filina and soloist of the theater “Gradsky Hall " N. V. Gerasimova.

On the opening day of the festival, there were three sites for viewing the competition works.

About 1000 contestants presented their creative works and performances in ten nominations of the festival. Competitors from 111 educational and cultural institutions of Moscow and Moscow region take part in the exhibition program. International participants were artists, designers, sculptors, painters from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Czech Republic, Mexico, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala and Belarus.

The chairman of the jury of the exhibition competition program is G. P. Moskovskaya, director of the Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts and Design of the GSU, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.

More than 120 young vocalists, musicians and actors take part in the competitive concert program. The festival is a platform for demonstrating the creativity of children and youth. Сontributing to the preservation and enhancement of the traditions of national cultures, the discovery of new names of talented musicians, actors, artists, the professional development of the younger generation.
