University leaders, teachers, staff and students took an active part in the events dedicated to the 77-th anniversary of the Great Victory. On the eve of the holiday, a solemn event "Memory is forever alive!" was held at the university. It was opened by the acting rector of the Gzhel State University D.S. Somov, who expressed gratitude and respect to the heroes who died in that terrible war. The adviser to the rector E. P. Sukhodolova told those gathered in the assembly hall about the participation of teachers and employees of the Gzhel silicate-ceramic technical school in the Great Patriotic War. Our university joined the project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation "Scientific Regiment".

A series of publications that tell about the history of our educational institution during the Great Patriotic War, about students and teachers, scientists who brought the Victory closer with their military and labor exploits, are posted on the information resources of the university. GSU also joined the action "Victory Waltz", sisters Irina and Marina Pugacheva performed a dance to the song "Blue Handkerchief". A special atmosphere on this day was created by musical and dance performances presented by our students. After the concert program, GSU joined the "Voice of Victory" campaign, in which representatives of the university administration, teachers, staff and students performed the Victory Hymn on the site in front of the main academic building of GSU. On the eve of the 77-th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, students handed out St. Georges ribbons and slices of front-line bread to their classmates, teachers and administration representatives to once again recall the immortal feat of our grandfathers, to once again say that "we remember, we are proud." Frontline bread is a special bread made according to a 1939 wartime recipe. The St. George ribbon is a symbol and tribute to those who fell saving the world from fascism, it is a symbol of respect for veterans and pride in the Great Victory.

On Victory Day, a rally was held at the university in memory of the employees and students of GSU - veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers and children of the war, who made an invaluable contribution to the cause of the Victory. The Great Patriotic War ended 77 years ago. Thanks to the feat accomplished by Soviet soldiers, today we have a peaceful sky above us, we live in the rhythm of cheerful student everyday life, we can make plans for the future, fulfill our wildest dreams.

The solemn rally was opened by the acting rector D.S. Somov, after a welcoming speech, teachers, staff and students of the university laid flowers at the memorial plaque installed in memory of the workers and students of the Gzhel College - participants in the Great Patriotic War. Further, the participants of the rally marched in a column of the Immortal Regiment social and patriotic movement with portraits of more than 100 war soldiers to the memorial to fallen soldiers in the village of Elektroizolyator, where the university administration and students solemnly laid flowers at the obelisk and took part in a concert program dedicated to Victory Day. In the evening, the university joined the "Candle of Memory" action, passing through the village in an organized column with candles in their hands. Our duty is to keep the memory of this Victory and pass it on to future generations.
