As part of the development of international activities, on February 3, 2023, a trip was organized by the university delegation headed by Vice-Rector for Educational Activities and Youth Policy A.S. Kanyuk to the anniversary concert of the Russian folk ensemble «Grenada» in the Concert Hall of the Russian Academy of Music. Gnesins.
The delegation and students of the university, including foreign students from Latin America, have already attended concerts of this unique group more than once, since most of their work is occupied by the promotion of song and musical creativity of different peoples of the world.
This team was created in 1973, overcame many trials during its existence, but today it remains in great demand, both in Russia and abroad.
Their repertoire includes folklore and rock, classics and jazz, their own compositions and old romances in 30 foreign languages and the languages of the peoples of Russia. In addition to the fact that the ensemble «Grenada» performs music and dances of the peoples of the world, and also plays unique musical instruments of craftsmen from different countries. During its existence, the team toured all over the world and was awarded public and state awards from different countries, including the highest orders of Venezuela and Chile.
The successful work and longevity of the ensemble is ensured by the uniqueness of its musical director Sergei Vladimirsky, but now the leadership of the ensemble is continued by his wife Tatyana Vladimirskaya, PhD in History, author of several monographs and a large number of scientific articles devoted to the study of musical culture.
The concert opened with the performance of the bands very first compositions, and then the most memorable songs in Russian, Spanish and English were performed. The anniversary celebration was a huge success.
Gzhel University also joined in the congratulations on the 50th anniversary of the Grenada folk ensemble, which brings the world the light of internationalism and international solidarity in the language of music understandable to any person on Earth without translation.
For more than 10 years GSU has been fruitfully cooperating with the countries of Latin America in the educational, scientific and cultural fields, which contributes to the strengthening of international relations between our countries.
