From 3 to 7 April 2023 GSU hosted the Week of Science dedicated to the Year of the Teacher and Mentor in the Russian Federation. More than 400 students and teachers, as well as representatives of universities, heads of enterprises and institutions took part in the events.

At the solemn opening ceremony of the Week of Science, the following speakers spoke: GSU Rector D.S. Somov, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor; Director of the Institute of Fine Arts and Design A. A. Rozhnikov, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts; S. A. Akentiev, General Director of Ceramics Gzhel LLC; E. O. Efimov, General Director of Art-Modern Ceramics LLC; R. I. Khasyanov, Director of the Ramenskoye Youth Center.

The program of the Week of Science also included: a round table on the topic «Artistic and industrial education in the modern cultural paradigm», scientific and practical seminars organized by the departments: «The humanistic orientation of the teachers activity»; «Fine and folk art: cultural codes and innovations»; «Transformation of the modern economy: tasks, problems, prospects»; «Dialogue of cultures in education: traditions and modernity»; «Socio-cultural activity and tourism: state, innovations, problems, prospects»; «Modern arts and crafts: continuity of traditions and innovation»; «Physical culture and sports in the system of higher and secondary vocational education»; «Language and language education in the modern world»; «Economics and Management in the Conditions of Social Transformation»; «Digital transformation: strategies, trends, technologies»; «Concepts in Contemporary Design: Theory and Practice».

Open lectures were held: V. M. Smirnov, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy, GSU, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor: «Creating a media-safe environment in an educational organization”; M. R. Miroshkina, Chief Researcher, GGU, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences: «Cultural code of generations: grounds for interaction»; Hieromonk Georgy Tavitsky (Kolomensk Theological Seminary): «Traditions of mentoring in the spiritual education of Russia: history and modernity.»

Associate professors of the Department of Fine Arts and Folk Art Culture organized master classes: G.V. Dudnikova - in the technique of artistic wood carving; L. S. Khozyasheva - in the technique of wet felting from wool.

At the solemn closing ceremony of the Week of Science, GGU Rector D.S. Somov awarded the most active participants in the events from among the students and teachers of the university.

Vice-Rector for Educational Activities and Youth Policy A. S. Kanyuk and post-graduate student of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy A. V. Garaganov were awarded diplomas and commemorative signs of the XXVI Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies «Archimedes» for the development of «Automation of the educational process for the development of digital competencies» teachers and meet the information needs of students”, previously registered with Rospatent.

2023 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian teacher K. D. Ushinsky. The Department of Psychology and Pedagogy of GSU organized a creative essay contest «Reading Ushinsky ...», in which more than 100 students and undergraduates took part, the winners of the competition were awarded diplomas of the rector.

Based on the results of the Science Week, it is planned to publish collective monographs included in the RSCI.
