GSU students studied at Gomel State University named after F. Scores
As part of the implementation of the cooperation agreement and the development of the academic mobility program, first-year students of the Pedagogical Education (foreign language) training area Anna Lomintseva and Alena Samast studied in the second semester of 2023-2024 at Gomel State University named after F. Scores (http://gsu.by /).
Students share their impressions:
"During our studies, we attended lectures and seminars in such disciplines as pedagogy, practice of oral and written speech, practical grammar, phonetics and psychology, etc. The classes were distinguished by a variety of teaching methods, which helped us to deepen our grammatical and lexical knowledge of the subjects studied, and consolidate our speaking skills in a foreign language. In such a subject as "Home reading" we managed to get acquainted with classical literature in English.
We especially note the unusual form of conducting classes on the practice of oral and written speech of the Spanish language with the teacher D. Y. Oblaushko, as well as classes in pedagogy with A.V. Novikova.
Much attention is paid to the health of students at the university, and a separate building has been allocated for physical education classes at Gomel State University.
The cultural program was also rich.
During the period of acquaintance in the Republic of Belarus, we were supervised by the Deputy Dean for Educational Work, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor G. V. Serikov. He helped us settle in, showed us the main academic buildings, and introduced us to the museums of Gomel.
We visited the Museum of Money of Gomel State University, the Vetkovsky Museum of Old Believers and Belarusian Traditions, which is famous not only for its outstanding and unique exhibits, but also for an excellent guide who told us about the history of the Branchs formation and its cultural traditions. At the end of the tour, we were presented with a seal that we made ourselves on the machine using ink and a sheet of paper.
On the eve of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, we visited the monument to child victims of victims of the Nazis in the village of Krasny Bereg, Zhlobinsky district. The children of this village endured all the horrors of the war and, no matter what, did not lose faith in victory and liberation. We read Katyas touching letter to her father and laid flowers. Such historical events provide an opportunity to realize how wonderful it is to live in a world without war and death, how important it is to preserve the peace won at the cost of millions of lives.
As part of the development of international cooperation, we took part in a conference where we presented Gzhel State University, told about the history of the Gzhel fishery and the creation of the university. It was an interesting and slightly exciting experience. It was very nice to see the interest in Russia and our university. For the opportunity to participate in this event, we express our gratitude to the Dean of the Faculty of Romano-Germanic Languages, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor E. V. Sazhina.
We would like to express our gratitude to the management and teachers of Gomel University for their cordiality and hospitality."
Thanks to the long-term cooperation between universities, students have the opportunity not only to improve their knowledge in the field of pedagogy and linguistics, but also to get acquainted with the culture and art of other countries.
