On February 2nd, 2018, the honorary guests of Gzhel University were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of El Salvador Efren Arnoldo Bernal Chevez and Minister-Counselor Yuri Pavel Santakruz.

Leaders and representatives of the embassy of the country actively participate in international projects of the university: in festivals of national creativity, scientific conferences, competitions. The University delegation visited the Republic of El Salvador in 2014, 2016, 2017, organizing an exhibition of works of teachers and students in San Salvador, signing agreements on cooperation in the field of culture and education.

Within the framework of the existing agreement in 2017, four students from El Salvador started to study at the Faculty of Decorative and Applied Art and Design. Efren Arnoldo Bernal Chevez met with students, got acquainted with the conditions of training, visited the hostel. In the new academic year, the State University plans to take a few more talented students from El Salvador to study in the field of Decorative and Applied Arts and Crafts.

Associate Professor of the Chair of general professional art disciplines, candidate of pedagogical sciences, member of the Union of Artists of Russia I.V. Korshunova conducted an excursion around the training and production workshops, the Museum of Decorative and Applied Art, where the guests got acquainted with the best diploma works of students. His Excellency was delighted with the exhibits exhibited in the museum and the process of their creation within the walls of the university.

At the round table with the rector of GSU Prof. B.V. Ilkevich, the Ambassador noted the leading role of the university in training specialists in the field of arts and crafts, ceramics, sculptures for the Republic of El Salvador. During the conversation, important questions were touched on the organization of the selection of students for the new school year, agreements were reached on the problems of overcoming the language barrier by foreign students, organizing the educational process and providing the opportunity to improve the acquired skills in training workshops. Dean of the Faculty of Applied Art and Design, G.P. Moskovskaya noted diligence and motivation among Salvadorian students.

The guests thanked the management for their cordial welcome, wished the university prosperity and expressed interest in further fruitful cooperation.
