In 2017 these students from El Salvador and Guatemala came to study at the faculty of arts and crafts and design of Gzhel University: Elena Anibaloshka Chavez Navarro, Cindy Pamela Castellanos Garcia, Blanca Jacqueline Ramos Jacinto, Eveline Beatriz Perez and Miguel Eduardo Miranda Vazquez. Viewing of the academic works for the first semester took place on January, 17th.

Before entering the GSU, students have passed the courses of Russian. During the official visit to Latin America, GSU rector Prof. B.V. Ilkevich and the dean of the faculty of arts and crafts, the Honored Artist of Russia G.P. Moskovskaya examined the works of the entrants and gave recommendations on preparation for the opening creative exams in drawing and painting for specialization on decorative and applied arts and crafts.

Our university has a wonderful material and technical base for the realization of the most daring projects in ceramics, glass and wood. Students from Central America immediately plunged into the creative environment, the atmosphere of mutual understanding, kind, friendly relations. They actively participate in events held at the university, for example, in the international festival "We Learn in Russia" the children presented their countries brightly and colorfully, acquainted the audience with the culture of El Salvador and Guatemala, performing on the stage of the assembly hall of GSU with national dances. Discipline and qualitative preparation, attentive attitude of teachers, employees, support of representatives of embassies contributed to the successful adaptation of students. We see their desire to get a quality education, to understand the subtleties of ceramists’ craftsmanship and professional training in academic disciplines.

In order that, after returning to their homeland after graduation, they could work in national traditions, in design assignments the Salvadoran and Guatemalan students depict landscapes, the flora of their homeland. Particularly successful were the work done in color, striking unusual bright colors, which look very organic.

Students from Central America are very pleased to work in the training workshops of the State University, and they have already had their first successes in the majolica painting. The results of the first viewing are encouraging, but this is only the beginning, for professional growth and development it is necessary to work hard, every year climbing a new stage, to study the history of art and to find your creative handwriting.

Students are expected at home, where they will organize production, teach children and create their own unique works - to apply in practice and the professional skills acquired at Gzhel University.

We wish them creative growth, spiritual enrichment to serve their country.

The results and successes of the first semester were presented at the review of the final works, which took place in such disciplines as: drawing, propaedeutic, design and painting.
