On February 15th, 2018 Gzhel State University was hosted by a delegation of students and teachers of the French Lyceum of Alexandre Dumas, led by director Teresa Delobie.

Lyceum students are frequent guests of GSU. 

Gzhel University has been cooperating with this institution for many years thanks to the teacher of the French language S.V. Tishkova, and visiting the museum of arts and crafts of the university and participating in master classes has become a good tradition of our relations. Most students are French citizens, their mother tongue is French. Education in the Lyceum is conducted, both in French and in Russian.

During the excursion to the museum and university, the students got acquainted with the history of the Gzhel craft, the long traditions of the University of Gzhel, they were able to see the best graduation works of students of the college and university, made in various ceramics techniques: majolica, porcelain, faience, chamotte.

In the workshops of the university, starting from the gypsum-modeling site finishing with the stove area, a delegation from the French lyceum was introduced to the process of manufacturing porcelain products. Irina Frolova, a fourth-year student of the faculty of decorative and applied art and design, conducted a master class on modeling.

In order to obtain the skills of live language communication with native speakers of French, students of the faculty of social and humanitarian education, who study French as a second foreign language, joined the students from the Lyceum. French is the second most popular language, and his knowledge and experience of communication, which GSU students receive at organized events, allows to establish intercultural ties of the university, as well as broaden the scope of possible travel.

In addition, the lyceum students took part in the animation program "Generous Maslenitsa", organized by the students in the area of preparation for social and cultural activities, with contests, burning of scarecrow and eating pancakes. The students received a lot of impressions from visiting the Shrovetide festivities.

The director of the lyceum, Teresa Delobie, noted the high professionalism and creative activity of both teachers and students, and she expressed her hope for further fruitful cooperation!
