On March 14th, 2018, the director of the school of ceramics Lea Gobbi, a member of the ceramics association Gabrielle Rezmini, the director of the tourism department of Albisola, Suvareore Luca Otonello, arrived in the university accompanied by the chairman of the board of the Chamber of Folk Crafts and Crafts S.A. Akentiev.
This is not the first visit of Italian ceramists, in 2017 the University was visited by the representative of the mayor’s office of Faenza, the secretary of the Italian Union of Ceramicists Carla Benedetti, the director of the Extra-Class Italy linguistic center Simona Berardi and the representative of the Territorial Marketing Group Andrea Succhi.
The interest of Italian ceramists is explainable: Faenza is known as the birthplace of faience, in Albisola Superyore the blue and white style of the ceramics painting "Old Savona", which appeared in Italy in the 17th century, was most widely distributed.
The guests got acquainted with the activities of the university, the museum of arts and crafts, training and production workshops. Various materials and techniques for the production of Gzhel ceramics were demonstrated: porcelain, faience, chamotte, majolica. On the excursion to the museum guests were shown the best works of students of the college and the institute. In the training workshops, the associate professor I.V. Korshunova spoke about the features of the process of porcelain production, the temperature regime in furnaces, and the technique of Gzhel painting.
The delegation was greatly impressed by the visit to the museum of arts and crafts and workshops. The guests noted that some of the information gathered during the visit to the university could contribute to the improvement of the technology of ceramics production in the workshops and in the factories of Albisol Souvenir, adding new elements to the painting of the "Old Savona".
Italian ceramists expressed their desire to take part in the International Festival "Artistic Ceramics", which will be held at the University on May 23rd, 2018, and offered to develop creative and scientific cooperation.
