From March 19th to 22nd, 2018 Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of chair of General Professional Arts I. V. Korshunova took part in the republican open-master class "Secrets of Painting", organized by the specialized gymnasium № 199 in Almaty. The purpose of the trip was to strengthen educational and cultural ties with Kazakh educational institutions, which are successfully developing at the university.
In 2017 representatives of GSU signed agreements on cooperation with the Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Tansykbaev Almaty College of Decorative and Applied Arts.
Under these agreements, student academic exchanges are organized. From July 25th to August 3rd, 2017, within the framework of international cooperation in the field of art education, science and culture, the University of Gzhel hosted students and teachers of the Kasteev School of Fine Arts and Technical Design (Almaty).
Representatives of Kazakhstan actively participate in the International Festival "The Blue Bird of Gzhel", the International Festival "Artistic Ceramics", which are annually held at Gzhel University. Students of Gzhel University, in turn, took part in the II International competition of students and teachers of the colleges of arts and art universities "O. Tansykbaev`s Biennale " in Almaty and other events.
The invitation to the republican open-air master class "Secrets of painting", organized by the specialized gymnasium № 199 in Almaty, attests to further expansion of cooperation with Kazakh educational institutions.
Among the 94 participants of the master class were teachers and students of art schools in Almaty and Baikonur, as well as students of the art-bureau «Kolibri» from Tashkent (Uzbekistan).
The program was saturated. The event was attended by teachers and artists from Russia, the Philippines, Lithuania, and Uzbekistan.
I.V. Korshunova delivered a lecture "Gzhel: Art and Education" and held a demonstration master class on Gzhel painting and teaching Gzhel painting with gouache on paper and cobalt on porcelain (semi-finished product) according to the author’s method. At the end of the meeting the students independently performed the composition on paper and painted porcelain products (plates, vases, bowls, trays, etc.) in the traditional Gzhel technique of underglaze painting with cobalt. The lessons inspired the schoolchildren, some of them expressed a desire to continue their studies at the University of Gzhel.
During daily creative meetings, teachers actively shared their experience in the field of arts and crafts, culture and education.
