In March 2018, the head of the International Relations Department N.V. Barkalova, and associate professor I.V. Korshunova visited the educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In 2017 Gzhel University signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Karshi. The rector of this university B.A. Shoimkulov at the meeting was especially interested in the areas of study where the ceramics are being prepared at GSU and the availability of a production base and qualified personnel for this. The work of training workshops and the results of ceramists’ training were demonstrated in the presentation of the university. In addition, I.V. Korshunova demonstrated her high qualification of the teachers, creating for a few minutes for the students and teachers of the Department of Fine Arts and Engineering Graphics, headed by F.E. Ochilov, on the sheet of the paper, the Gzhel symbol – the blue Gzhel rose.
In another oldest educational institution in Uzbekistan - Bukhara State University, the head of the department of fine arts and engineering graphics N.D. Yadgarov introduced us to the areas of educational activity, such as artistic embroidery, woodcarving, chasing in copper, ceramics, etc.
Thanks to the trip, it became possible to discuss with colleagues the prospects for further cooperation. We visited the oldest educational institution of Uzbekistan - Samarkand State University. The students of this university took part in the International Festival "Artistic Ceramics - 2017", which is being held by the University of Gzhel, now it was possible to get to know each other. The teacher of the department of fine arts and engineering graphics N. Zh. Mullajonova organized a tour of the university, showed the workshops where the students of the vocational training department are trained. For our part, we presented the Gzhel University for students and teachers of the Department of Fine Arts and Engineering Graphics.
Kh. Kh. Khamdamov, director of Abdurasulov Samarkand College of Arts, also became interested in cooperation with Gzhel University. The master class on Gzhel painting and the presentation of the university’s activities made a great impression on college`s graduates.
The trip was fruitful. Together with professional educational institutions of Uzbekistan, it is planned to implement scientific and educational projects in the field of arts and crafts and design. Many Uzbek teachers expressed their desire to improve their qualifications at Gzhel University and accepted an invitation to take part in the International Festival "Artistic Ceramics", which will be held in May 2018.
Gzhel University, just like Uzbek colleagues, is interested in mutual enrichment of cultural and pedagogical experience, therefore cooperation with universities of Uzbekistan is successfully developing!
